“Water Dragon” is a feng shui term meaning "river flow," symbolizing the gathering of wealth where rivers converge. Inspired by the pure and abundant streams flowing through our town, we named our distillery 'Water Dragon' to honor and enrich the community.

To share this concept, along with our whiskey and the town of Mishima, with the world, we dove into the legends and stories rooted in this area, including the Dragon God legend, the Tale of Princess Kaguya, and the story of Minamoto no Yoritomo’s uprising, among others.

Building upon these local traditions, we crafted an original story of two dragons, a pair bound by fate. The memory of the female dragon, who ascended to the heavens after leaving water behind to save the male’s life, is honored inside the distillery. The male dragon, who remained to protect the town, is personified and has depicted his figure on the walls.

To us, whiskey-making is a "story" that unfolds over decades or even centuries, refined and perfected with time. With dedication to our craft, we aspire for the tale of these two dragons to one day become part of the rich lore of this land.
